2007 RCA
AWARDS OF MERIT
Our favourite boatman (and
former captain) George "Mooner" Manoogian has been awarded the Rowing
Canada Award of Merit. It is the highest award that Rowing Canada
confers in recognition of his exceptional service to rowing over the
last 67 years. The Reception is in Ottawa on Sat. Dec. 1st.
Moon is not sure if he will attend due to health problems but is quite
pleased with the Award (as are we - long overdue).
Congratulations George on this recognition for your years of service
(and for helping make SCRC the best club in the world) and we're all
wishing you a speedy recovery.

THE
NIGHT BEFORE HENLEY
An ode to Jim Minards by Stephanie Brooks on behalf of ROWONTARIO
Twas the night before Henley when all through the Boathouse, not a
creature was stirring not even a mouse.
The showers were sparkling, the toilets ran free, the signage was
clearly posted - absolutely no dogs (cars, kids, trash, parents, even
rowers ETC) would we see!!
